MN FoodShare – we beat our goal!

In 2014 we raised 24,057.22 dollars/pounds for our neighborhood food shelves! Thank you to all who donated & gave during the month of March. and helped us beat our goal of 24,000 dollars/pounds of food.

Each March, Mississippi Market takes part in the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign, a program of the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches.

For each reusable bag that shoppers use at our stores they can choose to donate 5 cents toward the MN FoodShare through our EcoStamp program. Anyone can also round-up their purchases or donate a dollar amount at the registers.

And, check this out… Minnesota food co-ops together collected 100,271 dollars/pounds for our food shelves statewide!

Isn’t it amazing what cooperation can do?
