We continue to explore the possibility of a new store in East St. Paul. On December 11, we’ll learn if we’ve been granted tentative developer status. On December 11 we expect to hear if the Housing Redevelopment Authority (HRA) approves the Planning & Economic Development (PED) Department’s request to give Mississippi Market tentative developer status for the Hospital Linen site on East 7th Street. If approved, this means the city agrees to only work with us on this development opportunity. This will be an important step in pursuing a new store on this site and brings us one step closer to having a purchase agreement!
Dominium, the firm who is planning a senior housing development adjacent to the proposed Mississippi Market location, is also expecting to be approved as a tentative developer on this date. We’re hoping all goes well for them, also.
Here is a very early sketch on what the project could look like. Dominium housing is on the left. Mississippi Market is on the right. Both of these would face East 7th Street.
