Mississippi Market Helps Build Community
Our co-op gives back to our neighborhoods through four major initiatives:
- Through sponsorships of the Saint Paul Classic Bike
Tour and the Selby
Area JazzFest, each of which take place in early
September
- By making small donations to over 90 area schools,
nonprofits and other local organizations over each
fiscal year
- By participating in the Minnesota FoodShare Drive
to End Hunger held each March. In 2008 our members donated nearly 27,000 dollars/lbs.
of food which was divided equally among five area food shelves!
- By donating surplus produce and packaged
foods to Twelve Baskets and other local food shelves throughout
the year.
- By offering an assortment of free classes and guest speakers for schools and community organizations
